Genocide Reflection 2-part assignment

1st half of ASSIGNMENT: **post by 3:30 Monday
After you have read the student reading, Where are the American People? consider each of the 3 reasons Power gives for US inaction on genocide.
Answer the following PINK questions (on the blog) in this order:


1. What have been official US explanations for inaction?
2. How does Power respond to these explanations?
3. What does Power include are the "real reason" for US inaction?
4. Based on what you know do you agree with her? WHY or WHY NOT?




2nd half of ASSIGNMENT: **A group needs to turn it in by 3:30, even though you will not see me Monday!

W'ell be sharing ideas of ways to help educate people about the horrors of genocide. How can we help on the local, state, national and international levels?
You are to research ways you can get involved on one of these levels:

Create a 1 page written persuasive editorial for one of the following: local newspaper, student newspaper, online blog, or social networking site (facebook) informing the public about stopping genocide and specific ways to help. Help guide your readers!!
