Dell Scholars Program


The Dell Scholarship is now OPEN!

Go to http://www.dellscholars.org/ and answer the following:

1. Give me 3 facts from the "Learn More about App" link
2. What does it ask you to do?
3. Document at least 2 questions from the link that says "Last Year's Application Questions"
4. What is the criteria for this scholarship?

    -After the semifinalist information is submitted, all information is reviewed by an independent selection committee.

    -Application deadline is January 15

    -There is a chart with ALL of the important dates/deadlines needed for the application

    2.) Complete an online application

    3.)Questions from last year:

    -What kind of responsibilities do or did you have? What volunteer activities do you perform?

    -How many hours do/did you spend helping your family with domestic responsibilities?

    •Participating in an approved college readiness program for a minimum of two of the last three years
    •Graduating a high school this academic year
    •Have 2.4 GPA
    •Demonstrated need for financial assistance
    •Planning to enter a bachelor's degree program at a higher education institution in the fall directly after your graduation from high school
    •U.S. citizenship or permanent residency

  2. 1. deadline is 1/15/2012
    they are not just looking at all the clubs and stuff you did in high school
    they want to know about your home life
    2. send in the stuff they need to see and do an online app
    3.Describe any leadership roles you performed. Focus on how you helped others. Include important details that might help distinguish you from other candidates
    they also ask for your gpa and sat scores
    4.must have a U.S. citzenship or permanent residency
    must need financial help
    have a gpa of 2.4

  3. I. -Application deadline is January 15, 2012
    -After Semi-finalists are announced on February 1, 2012 their materials deadline is March 10, 2012
    -The Dell Scholars are announced on April 10, 2012

    II. Complete the application which includes school and work responsibilities, family life,college preparation, financial need and the drive to push yourself to earn a bachelor degree.

    -How many hours do/did you spend volunteering (without pay) in your
    community (e.g., church, community center, senior center, etc.)?

    IV.• Graduating from an accredited high school this academic year
    • Earning a minimum of a 2.4 GPA
    • Demonstrated need for financial assistance
    • Participating in an approved college readiness program for a minimum of two years
    • Planning to enter a bachelor's degree program at an accredited higher education institution in the fall of
    2009 immediately following High School graduation
    • U.S. citizenship or permanent residency
